What a load of rubbish!

There are a couple of things (only a couple!) that really drive me mad. The first is people who are disrespectful of their environment and other people…and the second is people who are too lazy to clear up after themselves (actually laziness in general winds me up…). Over the past 2 or 3 weeks I have been getting increasingly irritated by the rubbish that gets thrown out of car windows and is strewn along the side of the road that Boudie and I walk along each day. Now, we live in the country, at the bottom of a quiet lane, surrounded by rolling countryside and farmers fields. So I find it somewhat shocking to be able to collect this little lot on a very short walk from the house…

There’s debris from McDonalds, circuit boards, an in-line skate, an oil can, various bits of fencing, a briefcase, lots of bread….and much much more! Why do people think it is OK to dump things they no longer want in the countryside? I suppose they must think one or two items will never be noticed – or do they not think at all? One way or another it is a sad reflection or how little regard some people have for where they/others live. Shame.

  1. Well said!

  2. Betcha that briefcase was stolen. Familiar story from Leeds, alas.

  3. I had the same thought as Pauline on seeing the briefcase…
    looks like a camera equipment case to me!

    BUT…
    using all that material…
    what sort of sculpture can you come up with?
