Yes, we have no bananas.

IMG_2446Amongst our other endeavours, we are helpers at the local troglodite site in our village. The enterprise has now been scaled down and relies more on volunteer labour. A task recently was to thin out the very heavy (literally) growth of banana trees which have flourished in the sandy soil and southerly aspect. After hours of hacking away and chucking the hackings down the bank to the track, a huge pile of unwanted vegetation remained to be collected-by someone who had a suitable trailer….guess who? It was a big task, and one I feared tackling alone. Luckily I managed to secure a local landworker, provided the latest in gardening attire, and off we went. After several trips, the detritus was deposited into our local and lovely rubbish tip: a job well done!IMG_2448
