Mute moggie

We’ve been a bit concerned about Dennis’s verbal development for a while now. In stark contrast to Boudie who can bark for England (still struggling a bit with the french accent), Dennis barely utters a squeak. He just sits and stares..

Here he is – in a box – thinking deep thoughts, saying not a word. We wondered if it was because he’d been brought up by a dog and hadn’t had any contact with cats, so we’ve been showing him clips from the internet of cats meowing. He didn’t seem much interested, although over the past week he has uttered a couple of barely audible squeaks. Perhaps he’s just a strong silent type?…

  1. Leave poor little Dennis alone. He is obviously one of the strong silent types!! I suspect he is also a lot more sensible than Boudie 🙂

    • hmmm, not so sure about that! Horrible little thing keeps pooing in the living room…is that being sensible?

  2. Strong silent type , takes after his name sake .!!!
At least Dennis is house trained.

  3. I bet he keeps pooing in the same place though doesn’t he??!!

    • He has a couple of favoured spots actually – bit of variety…!

  4. Maybe you’re barking up the wrong tree. Are the clips of French cats?

    • Good point – hadn’t thought of that! Will let you know how we get on!
