Fruits of our labour

This is a wonderful time of year. Hot sunny days, balmy evenings and fabulous colourful produce in the garden. We have previously written about how the rain earlier in the season wreaked havoc with our tomatoes, but it all seems to work out in the end. A few weeks of dry sunny weather and the tomatoes are as sweet and delicious as ever…

It’s that time of year when every meal starts with a tomato salad! And every barbecue has a courgette or 3…

In fact a bit of sun and heat works wonders – we have beans to feed the village, lovely juicy beetroot, the sweetest carrots and perhaps my favourite of all – the potimarron squash. We’re planning to eat of bit of Minty, our erstwhile sheep, at the weekend, a delicious roast squash will be just the job!
