Beauty after bereavement

Poor old Grubby. When he first arrived he seemed to be a bit aloof and disconnected from his fellows, and looked on his way out from the start. In fact I wanted to call him Sarkozy, but, as usual the boss had the final say. It was left to me to do the clearing up after he died, and he was soon gone after lighting a big fire in the field. The other animals took no notice, but I was a bit saddened by it all, and wandered about the pasture whilst he was burning. And there to cheer me up were some lovely orchids.

Nature really is wonderful,  and the bee and butterfly orchids here are witness to our lovely countryside, and both within a few feet of our tragedy.
