The last strokes of the roller were applied this afternoon. After two and a half months, 230 litres of paint, 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 2 kitchen/dining rooms, 2 lounges, 2 landings, 2 ‘celliers’, a toliet and washroom the painting is done! I do enjoy painting, but there comes a point…and the point had come! Yippee.

On a less positive note, the prospects for our apricot harvest are once again not good. Our 2 trees are always the first to blossom and with the fine weather we’ve had they are bursting into bloom. Only problem is that we had a frost this morning and are likely to have another one tomorrow. As they say round here, the apricots are probably ‘foutus’…

  1. That’s a whole lot of paint! Suppose it’s time to start from the beginning once again?!! Well done to you both – I bet it looks stunning.
As a reward to you self-sufficiant people, do visit our friend’s Gourmet Touraine site where you’ll find how to purchase inexpensive vanilla pods and associated recipies.
Hope to bump into you both in April.
    Warmest regards,
    Jim & Sandra

  2. PS I forgot to mention that Sandra and I (along with our daughter and her fella) went to see West Ham v Boro on Monday (1-1). It was great fun sitting amongst the West Ham fans an cheering on the lads. We’d gone to defend and get the draw after two bad defeats – and we did that very well in the 1st hald (though the Hammers deserved to be in front). In the second half we played a lot better and a draw was a fair result – the young acadamy players we are using are maturing, surly we’ll make the play-offs?
