Twixt nip and caress.

What a lovely day. Kath chose to sand the beams in the second barn this morning, and found she had not got enough flap discs for the angle grinder. Being a slave to my wife’s every wish, I volunteered to go to Descartes to buy her some fresh ones. It was early in the morning, the wind was resting, the sun lit every drop of dew the night had left, and a gentle peace settled on the countryside. Our little car purred along the pretty lanes, the jays squawked in the woods, and swallows were wheeling above on their irrestistible journey to warmer climes.

It’s a beautiful time of the year, in between the nip of autumn and the warm caress of the summer sun.
